I have been on this medication since July of 2009. I have lost 20 pounds. The only side effects I have are dry mouth and insomnia. I was on this drug over a year ago and got off it, I saw a total difference for about the 8-9 months I was off of it. I was tired all the time, no energy, and ate all the time! I would recommend this medication for anyone who needs assistance with a jump start to losing the weight. Just beware that if you don't keep it up after you quit taking it, you will gain it back. I am having severe stomach and colon pain, bloating and lose stool from this medicine. I am constantly full of gas and miserable. I don't know what to do, I need the anticoagulant. Opthomologist prescribed 25mg. @ nite, but made me loopy next day and very dry mouth. So, I cut pill in half and take 1/2 at nite and then 1/4 during the next day. Has really helped prevent my ocular migraines w/ auras that I was having almost daily. Also - 10 lb weight gain within 1 month!! No matter what I do- can't loose the weight because I'm thirsty allll the time! Benefits far outweigh the side effects. I'm resting better at night. I was diagnosed with Lupus (SLE) & predinsone had its goods & bads. Good only for short term use I think. My husband was prescribed Deltasone after quitting Zoloft. Huge mistake! The Zoloft really kept his anxiety at bay, Deltasone made it worse. He also got very depressed, something he never had a problem with before. He even had a few episodes so bad I would not leave him alone. After 1 month on Deltasone he quit and went back on the Zoloft. So far there has been no bad effects of quitting the drug as some had reported. And after 1 week back on the Zoloft he is slowly getting back to his old self again! Other more weird side effects he had was constipation, insomnia, and loss of appetite. And the weidest of all was the fact that he was getting more and more depressed, but he could not sit still. He was out until 1:00 am while having to work the next day.
