I have been on this for almost 5 years for fibromyalgia and other pain. I have found it the most effective of all pain meds tried, including morphine( which i have the worst side effects with). I do not find it addictive, possibly because i do use it correctly, i dont abuse it, and the only thing it does is alleviate my pain a little, i get no high from it, although sometimes with how severe my pain is, iwish i did get a little high from it because maybe i wouldn't hate my illness so much. That being said, it is the only pain pill that does not give me any adverse reactions, and it helps my pain, it doesn't take it away completely, but it does help enough to be able to perform the most basic of everyday motions, and without it i honestly could not even imagine how much pain i would be in or how less a life i would have if i did not have it. As much as i hate having to rely on pain pills, my quality of life seems better and it enables me to do the things with my kids that most mothers take for granted. I will urinate 3-4 times a night. I started to take Buspar earlier this month. My doctor told me to take for a minimum 7 days and I would feel some improvement. Early in taking the Buspar, I have experienced dry ejaculation. First time happening and a uncomfortable feeling. I stopped taking. A week later I started taking again after seeing the same doctor who prescribe it. In the last couple of days out of nowhere, I've become stuffy and then my heart starts to pound in my chest.It makes me feel as if I am having a heart attack. Prior to taking Buspar, I've not had these symptoms before and the amount of urinating has not decreased. I will stop taking the Buspar immediately. I have suffered from chronis migraines since my early teens but have had chronis migraines(3-5)week for the past three years after being struck on the side of the head. Over the counter medications could not touch them and narcatics were scary with the amount that I was getting them. I was put in another prventitive a year and a half ago. At first that seend to help but after several months the headaches started the inrease again. Two of the main side effects of that drug were suger craving and it was a seditive, so after gaining 20lbs I had enough and was switched to generic Topomax. I have been on it for 4 weeks now and have built up to 50 mg am and pm. I have had very little side effects except for slight tingling in feet after sitting, and pop tastes horrible. The plus sice is I drink a lot more water, have lost 18 lbs, am more active and do not feel like I am constantly in the hazy faze that I always felt I was in on the Amitrip. I am on a anti-depressent and I think that that has help with any of the mood issues that this drug may have. I had the numbness/tingling the first several weeks I was taking topamax. After that went away, the migraines were fairly well controlled, seeing as how I was in graduate school at the time. Little did I know, stress and burnout were not the sole reasons I had trouble concentrating/studying/remembering things. After stopping topamax, I felt happier, my memory and concentration improved. I must also comment that I experienced mild/moderate depression during my time on the drug.
