The medication works much better for me than Toprol did. I have been on this medication (5mg daily) for about 8 months after an episode of Atrial fibrillation. I have a family history of High Blood pressure, and a few years ago I started taking Toprol. I felt lethargic, and demotivated, but I kept working out as much as I could. I gained 15 pounds in 30+ days, and I weighed 170 at the time. I took myself off it, and managed my BP with diet and exercise till I had an episode of Afib after getting severely dehydrated. I have been on Ceftin ever since, and it seems to be keepin my heart rate in the "normal" range, and I dont have the side effects that Toprol gave me, though I agree with one reviewer that it impacts erectile funciton, but my wife has lost all interest in such activity anyway, so the actual impact is low.
